How to Panfan your toilet

  • Firstly you have to decide which fan unit is the best to use in your toilet, ( PFV - PFC )
  • Secondly decide whether you want to power the fan unit with mains supply (ac) or a rechargeable battery (dc)
  • Thirdly decide whether you want the fan unit turned on manually (M) or automatically (A) when you use the toilet.

Example:  PFCdcA is a PFC fan, battery, automatic.

Choose your fan unit

We have two fan types. A vented fan type PFV, and a filtered fan types PFC - refer to Our Models, but in summary:

PFV
If you’re building new or renovating your bathroom the ‘PFV’ can be a good choice. The ‘PFV’ uses a 40mm pipe to vent air directly from the toilet bowl to the outside of the house!

If you’re like most people and you want to leave your toilet like it is or if it is not practical to fit a 40mm pipe from the rear of your toilet tank (cistern) then we have two filtered fan types that are suitable for new builds and retrofits. The filtered fan type you need depends on what type of tank trim mechanisms your toilet has.

PFC

The first filtered fan type is called the ‘PFC’ – you can apply the ‘Coke test’ to see if it fits your toilet. All you need to do is rest one end of a Coke can on the overflow pipe (see below).
Do not panic if your toilet tank mechanisms do not suit as it may be as simple as rotating the valve - refer to How to install fan units for help.
This fan type has a replaceable filter which is easily removed and typically needs changing every 6-12 months.
