With the PFC models, the flush valve must have an accessible overflow pipe that the Panfan will fit over. The Panfan then draws odour directly from the bowl using the overflow pipe as the air passage way. Odours and bacteria are then trapped within the carbon filter  attached to the Panfan fan unit. The filter is replaceable and lasts for about a year.
